Written by Kiki Pietersz | Sep 6, 2024 9:35:29 AM

With the Vitaal & Veilig Thuis project, the WijZ Welfare Foundation assists people aged 70 and over in staying independent for as long as possible. While many seniors manage well, some might need some extra support. WijZ Welfare Foundation helps this group of seniors. Since 2020, we have been providing the software that enables WijZ to assist their clients more effectively. This article outlines how this collaboration looks in practice.

WijZ Welfare Foundation

Streetwise, life wisdom, stubbornness—however you want to describe it, there is beauty in wisdom. It empowers you to do what's best for yourself. Ideally, you do this independently, but sometimes you need help. That’s where the WijZ welzijn Foundation (part of the Dimence Group) comes in. The foundation assists people in need of support. WijZ offers a range of activities for seniors, including sports and exercise, culture and creativity, and social activities in the community. Additionally, WijZ provides various services, such as assistance with administration, advice on how to live independently at home for as long as possible, or simply a good conversation. The Vitaal & veilig thuis Project

One of the projects for which they have become regionally known is the Vitaal & Veilig Thuis project. Through this project, WijZ Welzijn assists people aged 70 and over in remaining independent for longer. It begins with an analysis of the current situation, conducted using a standardized questionnaire by volunteers.

Standardized Questionnaire Helps Analyze the Living Environment

The questionnaire assesses the living situation, social contacts, financial administration, personal fitness, and more. Based on the responses, the resident may be referred to a partner within the project’s network.

Automated Software for More Efficient Care

For example, if the resident indicates they have physical complaints, they are referred to a local physiotherapist. An automated email is sent to the physiotherapist through the system, who must then provide feedback via the same system when contact has been made and what arrangements have been made with the resident. The Vitaal & veilig thuis projectteam monitors whether residents are approached by the partners and whether actions are followed up on. The software assists the project team with their daily tasks, while also improving the safety and quality of life for residents.

For this social project, we have been providing the software for several years. From developing the digital questionnaires to training the project team on how to use the software, we ensure the entire process is digitized and automated, allowing care to be delivered more efficiently and residents to be assisted more quickly.
