Emergency GP Post Gelders Rivierenland Case | The Patient Safety Company

Updated at: 12 February 2025

The Emergency GP Post Gelders Rivierenland is part of the Zorggroep Gelders Rivierenland and works closely with general practitioners in the region. The team is ready to provide care in situations that cannot wait until the patient's own GP is available. Today, Mariëlle Lensen from the Emergency GP Post will share more about the collaboration with TPSC and the added value of our software in daily practice.

What is the Emergency GP Post Gelders Rivierenland?

The Emergency GP Post Gelders Rivierenland serves as a central point for urgent GP care outside office hours. Located at the Rivierenland Hospital in Tiel, the emergency post provides care to residents of a large area, including Beesd, Culemborg, Geldermalsen, Tiel, and surrounding villages. In total, the coverage area includes approximately 183,500 inhabitants.

10 Years of Working with TPSC: "A Logical Choice"

About 10 years ago, the Emergency GP Post Gelderse Rivierenland chose TPSC, specifically for the complaints and incident management modules.

The choice for TPSC was based on its accessibility and user-friendliness, allowing multiple colleagues to work together on files in one place. This prevents information from being stored in different places and ensures that the most up-to-date status is always available.

As a quality officer, I coordinate the various quality committees and ensure that new committee members are properly trained. Initially, I was surprised that there was no user manual included with the program. However, this turned out to be unnecessary: the logical and intuitive setup allowed everyone to quickly feel at home within the system.

Advantages of TPSC Software

The most significant advantage is its user-friendliness. Incident and complaint files are logically organized, with important information about the incident or complaint conveniently stored. The tools also allow for quick and easy generation of management reports (graphs). I do believe there is room for further improvement in this area, for example, allowing users to create custom graphs according to their specific needs.

It is also not unimportant that TPSC has been NEN 7510 certified since this year. This means that the data we collect for complaint and incident handling is stored in a secure way, which gives a reassuring feeling.

Collaboration with TPSC

The collaboration with TPSC has been very positive, partly due to the annual in-person meetings, during which solutions and improvements are actively discussed.

Conclusion

In summary, we are very satisfied with the modules we use and our collaboration with TPSC. Thanks to the software, we can efficiently work on improving the quality of our care while ensuring high standards of data security.
