As you know, we like to share sneak peeks behind the scenes at The Patient Safety Company. This month we held an interview with Servicedesk Engineer Mitch Dobbe! Interested in the tasks of a Servicedesk Engineer at TPSC? Read on below!
Mitch, how long have you been with us?
It's been about 1,5 years. I started in April of 2022.
How did you come to work at The Patient Safety Company?
I came to TPSC through secondment.
What would you say has been your most memorable moment here so far?
Our internal transition to the cloud was quite memorable.
And what's been your favorite project with TPSC?
My favorite project would have to be the transfer of our internal systems to the cloud and all the parts of that process.
What do you hope to achieve in the next 10 years with TPSC?
I would love to further increase my overall knowledge.
What aspect of being a Servicedesk Engineer do you personally like the most?
It's very satisfying when you manage to solve an issue that's been going on for a while.
What's an essential skill for your role?
I would say it's being customer oriented since you have to communicate a lot with customers in this role.
And what do you like the most about working for TPSC?
The kind of work we do here is unique compared to the jobs I've had before.
Have you faced any challenges working for TPSC?
Some challenges I've faced have been the replacement of all our WiFi equipment and the recent renovations of our office in Alkmaar.
How do you experience the company/team culture?
Our team culture and company culture both are informal. You can easily talk about most anything with each other.
What does your day to day work look like?
Our days start with checking our inboxes. We check to see whether any new requests have come in as well as whether we have received any responses to our own questions. From there on out we decide on what the day will look like.
If you could switch jobs with anyone else within TPSC, who would you want to switch with?
I would like to switch with Cloud Management since I am interested in that type of technology and the cloud in general.
Overall, how would you describe TPSC in three words?
Informal, multifaceted, international.
Work is not the only thing in life of course. What do you like to spend your free time on?
I like to spend my time off touring the Netherlands with my friends.
And aside from that, I also really like playing video games.
